Foreword
Although this new issue of International Correspondence has as its central theme the revolutionary process opened in Iran, we wanted to highlight in the foreword the permanent resistance of the Palestinian people.
Benjamin Netanyahu has just been elected again prime minister of Israel, after his party, the Likud, won the elections held on November 1st.
In these elections, there was a rebound in the voting of the extreme right parties allied to Likud, such as Religious Zionism, a racist, anti-Arab and homophobic movement, and United Torah Judaism, a party of ultra-Orthodox religious sectors. Netanyahu’s appointment comes against the background of almost daily killings of Palestinians in the occupied territories. So far this year, 148 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied territories and Israel, making 2022 the year with the most Palestinians killed by Israel since 2006.
We call to continue promoting international solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people. We repudiate the permanent aggression of the racist state of Israel and we support the struggle for a truly just solution, which is the establishment of a single, secular, non-racist and democratic state in the entire historical territory of Palestine.
The revolution of women, the working class and the peoples of Iran is the highest point of the current social confrontation. The Iranian rebellion joins the high-profile workers’ strikes in Europe that also occupy several pages of this issue.
Like other struggles in Latin America (Haiti, Panama, Mexico), China and the rest of the world. Also, the strength of the military-popular resistance of the Ukrainian people, hitting the Russian invader, is part of this growth of social confrontation.
From these pages, the IWU-FI will continue to encourage and support the workers’ and popular struggles of the world against imperialism and its capitalist governments
