6 February 2026. The Sumud Global Flotilla will once again sail the Mediterranean and travel overland across North Africa to reach Gaza. It will depart on March 29 with more than 100 ships and mobilizations in numerous countries to launch, once again, the largest mission in history in solidarity with Palestine.
This new initiative comes in Trump’s sham peace agreement and the announcement of the Peace Council, through which imperialism seeks to deepen colonisation in Gaza and all of historic Palestine. Far from bringing peace, this has allowed Israel to violate the ceasefire more than 1,500 times and kill over 550 people. In this context, the leaders of the Sumud Global Flotilla have denounced: “the catastrophic failure of governments and international institutions to stop the genocide, siege, mass famine, and systematic destruction of civilian life in Gaza by Israel.”
A large convoy of over 1,000 medical professionals will attempt to reach Gaza via the Rafah crossing to address the famine, trauma, and failing healthcare system.
From March 29th, the boats and the convoy will head towards Gaza, and large-scale mobilizations must accompany the flotilla to support the initiative. As Mandla Mandela, leader of the FGS and grandson of Nelson Mandela, stated, “We are coming together in the Sumud Global Flotilla because we understand that, as a global collective, we can isolate Israel from apartheid, dismantle it, and bring it to its knees, just as we did with South African apartheid.”
From the International Workers’ Unity – Fourth International (IWU-FI), we will once again support this new initiative by sea and land, just as we did last year. We are part of the global movement in solidarity with Gaza and we fight alongside hundreds of organisations for the immediate withdrawal of all Israeli troops from Gaza and Palestine. We say enough to the bombings and killings, and we demand the release of all Palestinian political prisoners who remain incarcerated. Free Palestine from the river to the sea!
