Deputies from the Left Front filed a complaint in Comodoro Py (federal courthouse location) against the Israeli prime minister, accused of war crimes. They rejected his visit to the country at the invitation of President <strong>Javier Milei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Courts of Comodoro Py received a criminal complaint against Israeli Prime Minister <strong>Benjamin Netanyahu,<\/strong> accusing him of genocide against the Palestinian people. The Socialist Left deputies sponsored the initiative in the Left Unity Front, <strong>Mercedes de Mendieta<\/strong> and <strong>Juan Carlos Giordano<\/strong>, along with <strong>Mercedes Trimarchi<\/strong>, a Buenos Aires legislator.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit demands the arrest of <strong>Netanyahu<\/strong> if he enters the country. President <strong>Javier Milei<\/strong> invited him in September. \u201cWe repudiate <strong>Milei<\/strong> for having invited him. We say, \u2018not in our name.\u2019 <strong>Netanyahu<\/strong> out of Argentina,\u201d the legislators stated, also demanding the severance of diplomatic relations with Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The International Criminal Court seeks <strong>Netanyahu<\/strong>, accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including the use of starvation as a method of warfare and attacks against civilians in Gaza. \u201cIf he sets foot on Argentinian soil, we must arrest him immediately,\u201d they stated.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint is based on Argentina\u2019s adherence to the Rome Statute, which grants legitimacy to collaborate with the International Criminal Court. \u201cOur country has the autonomous power to request Interpol to arrest Netanyahu and hand him over to the ICC,\u201d they stated.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the legislators reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian cause and for international initiatives seeking to break the humanitarian blockade of Gaza. \u201cWe support the flotillas that will depart from Spain and Tunisia to deliver humanitarian aid and demand a free Palestine, from the river to the sea,\u201d they concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By IWU-FI 18 August 2025.
