The participation of the repressive forces in assemblies and provocations was also documented. To date, around two thousand five hundred (2,500) people, including dozens of minors, are still being held in Chilean prisons for having exercised their right to protest, under a \u201cpreventive detention\u201d that has extended, in many cases, beyond the time of a possible sentence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">From the Caribbean and Central America we join the voices in Chile and around the world demanding FREEDOM FOR POLITICAL PRISONERS and warning about the risk to which prisoners are deliberately subjected, crowded into unhealthy prisons, in the context of the covid pandemic19. Pi\u00f1era\u2019s message is that anyone who protests can be killed, tortured or exposed to the pandemic indefinitely in Chile\u2019s prisons.
