Foreword
In this international situation, several words are repeated throughout the media and in the statements of bourgeois politicians or analysts. Among them are stupor, earthquake, Armageddon, hecatomb, tremor, and uncertainty. Chaos is perhaps the most commonly used. It even graced the cover of The Economist with pictures of Trump in the background.
All this is happening in the world because of the policies of the far-right Donald Trump. The President of the United States has turned the tables on capitalism. He is breaking all the political and economic agreements that have governed, for better or worse, since the end of the Second World War in 1945. The height of chaos is the global “tariff war”, which has baffled his allies in the multinationals, Wall Street and the IMF. So chaotic and unpredictable are Trump’s actions that the reader may find that many of the things said here have already changed.
This issue of International Correspondence has a long section devoted to the underlying meaning of this chaos or hecatomb of capitalism. We revisit the definitions of the Especial Edition of April 2024, which socialised the conclusions of the Eighth World Congress of the IWUFI held in December 2023.1 At that congress, we defined that we are living through the most severe capitalist crisis in its history. 
Today this is becoming increasingly evident. The big capitalists, the bankers and their governments, are terrified by the mass of money they have lost. But the consequences of this chaos will be suffered by the working class and the exploited peoples of the world. They will be the ones to pay for these disasters.
That is why for revolutionary socialists the important thing is to support and encourage mass mobilisations, workers’ strikes and rebellions to defeat the far-right Trump’s plans of plunder, exploitation and colonisation. This has already started with the general strikes in Greece and Argentina, with the protests in Panama or the twelve hundred mobilisations that took place in more than 50 cities in the USA. This is the way to defeat Trump, Elon Musk, Meloni or Milei.
