To unions and organisations of the popular and workers’ movement
To the left-wing organisations
All organisations that claim to be left-wing and from the popular and workers’ movement must denounce Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. No excuse can justify Putin’s massacre and destruction in this war. “Out Putin’s invader troops” is the slogan of demonstrations around the world. We support the Ukrainian resistance to defeat the invasion. We stand up for the Ukrainian people’s right to defend themselves and for their right to self-determination.
Together with the repudiation of Russian aggression, we reject all interference of the American and European imperialism in Ukraine. Our position is of independence from their governments, denouncing NATO’s military force. We supported the struggle to defeat the US invasion of Iraq and defended the right of the Iraqi people to repel aggression. Thus, we are today raising our voices against another equally infamous invasion. We did so without endorsing Saddam Hussein’s policies. Like before, our support for the resistance of the Ukrainian people does not include political support or raise confidence in Zelensky capitalist government.
From this independent position, we propose to promote a broad movement of unity of action for these aspects, open to adding others (breaking diplomatic relations with Russia, freedom for prisoners for repudiating the war in Russia), in order to coordinate a plan of action at international level. We, therefore, propose that we get in close contact and sign a common declaration and a coordinated plan of action.
