France’s most powerful unions called a strike and protest on Thursday to denounce the loss of jobs during the pandemic and demand wage increases.
The participating unions include the country’s second largest union, the General Confederation of Labour (CGT), the Solidaires Unitaires Démocratiques and the Fédération Syndicale Unitaire (FSU), the main education and public sector unions, along with several youth organisations.
