LET’S BUILD A NEW POLITICAL PROJECT OF THE WORKING CLASS, THE WORKERS’ PARTY-UNITE
The BROAD FRONT (FA) party as a gradual phenomenon that emerged in the environmentalists’ struggles and the defence of the territories, putting its electoral registration at the service of the fighters and the peoples, no longer exists, it has become an empty shell of brutal and irreversible adaptation to the bourgeois democratic regime.
As UNITE we take part, from the grassroots, first in the building of the Broad Front (FA) and then as guests of the FAJVL party, but always keeping an independent class policy to join thousands of fighters to build the workers’ party. This is a necessary clarification because we are not part of that fratricidal fight between warlords that has been developing, within the FA, without a basic political and economic programme to get out of the crisis and increasingly away from the rank and file and the ongoing struggles.
In this sense, in our greeting to both FA Congresses at the end of September, we called to put forward the discussion of a fundamental programme to get out of the crisis, to unite the struggles and the fighters against the criminal economic revival of the government and CONFIEP, but unfortunately our call for unity was not heard by the fighting factions. They put forward the dispute for the bureaucratic machinery in the framework of an electoral anguish that led one sector to seek alliances with the reformist left and the other sector to impose methods of suspensions and expulsions. We are not part of that; we reject both the opportunistic turn and the bureaucratic method of purges, both variants of the rusty Stalinist policy.
The presentation of the presidential list and its slates to the Congress, because of its composition and its composition without a programmatic debate and without a perspective of class independence, shows the bureaucratic crystallisation and political deviations that liquidated the FA. They have privileged the candidates to the service of the fratricidal squabble who do not represent the people in struggle. This is only a step towards decomposition, so we from UNITE will not take part in the present electoral process betting on the creation of a new political project.
From UNITED we call on the thousands of fighters who are disappointed by the failure of the FA to continue to organise, to avoid demoralisation and to build together a new political alternative of the working people with a political programme that is consequently anti-capitalist. Reaffirming our identity and political path, let us set in motion in a unitary, consistent and democratic way the regrouping of those of us who refuse to be the partners of a regime that exploits, oppresses and sinks us into misery and destroys our environment by the hand of capitalist plundering of our natural resources.
It is in this perspective that we make available our electoral registration in process – «Workers’ Party Unite» – and our location in the Congress, together with Comrade Enrique Fernandez Chacon, so that in a collective and unitary manner, without sectarianism or opportunism, we build a new political party of the workers, for the head-on struggle against all the capitalist governments and the big business owners and for the daily action together with the working people and not only for the elections. With workers’ democracy, let’s consistently support the struggles of the working people, the workers’ movement, the informal workers, the native communities, the small farmers, the struggles of women and the youth on the road to fight for a workers’ government without bosses and bureaucrats that allows us to make available all the resources of the country with a democratic planning of the economy to solve the needs of the working people and not the profits of the big bosses. Let’s get to work, there is no time to lose!
