It has just been confirmed that US President Donald Trump lost the election. Juan Carlos Giordano, national deputy elected by the Socialist Left-FIT Unity, pointed out in this context:
“We share the joy that is being felt in the United States by a large part of the workers, the anti-racist movement, the women’s movement and most of the American people and the masses of the world. The right-wing, imperialist and racist president and tycoon who denied the coronavirus, dismantled the health system, defended George Floyd’s murderous police and subdued the peoples of the world with his austerity plans has been defeated. Trump was the president of the world imperialist capitalism that only offers hunger, social inequality and is a threat to the planet with the environmental destruction”.
Giordano concluded: “That Trump has been defeated does not imply to put any expectations on Joe Biden, who won in the name of the other imperialist bosses’ party as it is the Democratic Party that when he governed with Obama, not only did not solve any problem of the workers, the African descendants or the poor people but in the face of the capitalist crisis of 2008 he saved the banks and multinationals and also promoted the austerity plans in the rest of the world. That is why we bet that the American people will continue to mobilise for their demands against the new government. And we say that Biden will not mean any benefit for Argentina, as Alberto Fernandez wants to make us believe. He is wagering that the new US president will influence to agree on a new pact with the IMF that will mean more austerity, indebtedness and submission. That is why we are going to condemn the new visit of the Monetary Fund to Argentina this Tuesday from the Socialist Left and the Left Unity Front.
