21 October 2021 – On 20 October, the National Front for the Defence of Economic and Social Rights (Frenadeso), the National Confederation of Trade Unions Unity (Conusi) and the National Union of Construction Workers (Suntracs), together with other social sectors, organised a big workers’ and popular march. Various organisations fight against mining, and others are in favour of an original Constituent Assembly. Also peasant sectors and representatives from the provinces of the country.
The Social Security Fund Employees’ Association (AECSS) was present. At AECSS we believe that unity in the struggle is crucial to stop the plan to make us pay for the crisis, within the framework of the government’s dialogue with the opposition, in which the Social Security Fund (CSS) and the deputies of the “civil crusade”, the same ones who called for the imperialist invasion to impose the false democracy that they defend today, are also taking part.
For the workers, there is no democracy with unemployment, with informality, with suspended contracts, which only benefit those who defend the false democracy, which includes deputies like Corina Cano, who opposes the rights of women to decide over their bodies, or supposedly independent deputies like Edison Broce, who is part of the business and IMF policy of mass dismissals of public employees, which he has openly expressed regarding the administrative employees of the Social Security Fund.
